Harvest time for our winter veggies!

Well done to all our gardeners who harvested their crops on Monday afternoon and left them on a table for families to take home and eat. You did a fabulous job and they looked so colourful. We harvested silverbeet, rainbow beet, spring onions, lettuce, beetroot and celery.

Looking forward to planting our orchard trees next with the help of Mitre 10!

Tuatara plants garlic

Today we had two very keen and able helpers from Tuatara class. Tane and Rhihana dismantled a garlic bulb and planted approx 40 cloves into Tuatara's plot. In a few weeks the garlic should have poked through, they look a bit like onions so keep an eye out for them. Thanks for your help guys ! :) Hopefully you will get to harvest it in December!

Pukeko - do you like beans?

I hope you like beans because there's lots of butter beans to harvest in your new Pukeko plot. Please pick them every few days so more will grow. If you don't like beans cooked, try them raw - yum. Don't forget to wash them first.

Pukeko were lucky enough to inherit the great work from Ruru last year - thanks Ruru!
